Averlaine's musings

Musings from livejournal - a tonic for what ails you.

Take 1-2 as required. If symptoms persist, discontinue use immediately and return to reality a much duller but more productive member of society.

I object!

Petals of peony tumble from palms
Sparkling blue eyes betray boyish charms
Promises soar in on love's feathered wings
Drawing them in as he barters for things

A prize to be won, a battle to fight
A party sets out for glory tonight
Brave hungry folk, desperate for fame
To slay a dragon and stake out their claim

Nobody knows if it even exists
If it ever did, how could it persist?
Buried beneath a mile of stone
This cursed thing no-one wants to own
Burning them all, it's only a start
Radioactive, it lies apart

Setting their lures at the edge of its lair
Wary of none of the dangers posed there
Eager for battle, they bleed for gore
Sallying forth with their weapons of war

Throwing them back as hard as it dares
Battle begins, ancient wounds are lain bare
Sixty's a half-life for kinds of decay
Can't you just take brilliant blue for okay?

Buried beneath a mile of stone
This cursed thing no-one claims as their own
Burning them all, it's only a start
Radioactive, it lies apart

Buried beneath a mile of stone
Radioactive, it's lying, lying all alone
